Job Description
Maintenance – Set Up CNC
Elgin IL, 60120.
Temp to Hire Position (90 days)
Bilingual-English Spanish is a plus
E-Verify, Background check and drug test required.
1st Shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm
Pay rate $24.00 to $26.00
Monday to Friday, Saturday as needed.
Type of CNC Machines:
· Lathes-Turning Machine.
· VMC-Vertical Machine Center.
· HMC-Horizontal Machine Center.
· Machine controls are by FANUC and YASNAC, employees must be able to make the Set-ups/CNC to know the program.
· Additional information: All set-up employees are required to purchase their own tools prior to starting their assignment. General tools as: Dial Indicator, Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Measuring tools), Steel toe boots.
Key Responsibilities:
· Make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance
· Set up machinery and equipment according to instructions
· Troubleshoot minor issues
· Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
· Comply with all safety and health regulations
· Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
· Focus on Quality Improvement and Root Cause Analysis
· Support Machine Operators during their production and trouble shoot areas in production.
· Report all areas of concern to Managers.
· Focus on monthly and daily Safety topics to help reduce risks
· Get involved in production requirements and the goals to minimize scrap.
· Assist in training new operators in the operation of equipmentQualifications:
Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience
desirable.
• Knowledge of CNC Machines; adjusting tool offsets, mounting tool holders, taking tool offsets, mounting
fixtures, understanding of inspection report.
• Minimum knowledge of (TS/ISO14001) system.
• Understand how to use/read measuring equipment (ex. micrometer, Vernier/digital caliper).
• Understand and how to use/read indicator for tool adjustment
• Must be detail-oriented with an attitude to learn.
• Willingness to learn and is seeking to advance.
• Understanding of production and plant processes
• Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply,
divide) in different units of measurement
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work in a team.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
• High School diploma or GED desirable.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
